Annual Giving is your opportunity to make what we feel is the most important contribution a parent can make — giving our children the firm foundation of a good education that they require in order to grow and flourish. Recent cuts in our state budget have led to less than adequate funding for schools. JSEF recognizes the need to invest in our classrooms by providing additional funds for programs, materials, and educational opportunities for our students.
Funds from Annual Giving will be spent on many of the following needs: middle school technology; musical instruments for Rodeo Hills, Carquinez, and John Swett; youth camps and activities such as Camp Concord; Challenge Day at the middle school; classroom materials; and scholarships for high school seniors. We also evaluate special requests received every month and fund those as needed. For examples of what we have funded in the past, please visit the Accomplishments section of this site.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 for the 2013-2014 school year and to have full participation of all parents (to donate as a community member or local business instead, please click here). Most school districts have active education foundations that administer similar giving opportunities with parents and community. Those districts with an active education foundation tend to rate higher scholastically as educational opportunities are more available.
Recommended support levels:
- FAMILY (more than one child in JSUSD schools) = $45 month or $540 yearly
- ONE CHILD = $30 month or $360 yearly
Please give what you can afford; there are additional options for reduced amounts of $20 month/$240 yearly, $10 month/$120 yearly, or $5 month/$60 yearly if you are on a limited income. We are also more than happy to accept larger donations if you have the financial ability to support the Foundation at a higher level. Whatever the amount, we appreciate all support and will put it to good use to support student achievement at John Swett schools. JSEF is a 501(c)(3) and your donation is always tax deductible. This button will open a new page where we can receive payments through Rally.org, which specializes in processing donations for non-profit organizations. They accept all major credit cards. If you want to pay for the whole year at once, you can enter one of yearly amounts in the “Other” field when asked how much you want to contribute. Otherwise just choose a monthly option at the top of the page and make sure to select the “Each Month” option at the bottom of the Personal Info section.
