About Us
John Swett Education Foundation was founded out of a need to help the schools and it's students in the 4 schools within the John Swett Unified School district. The impetus was the failure of a June 2006 parcel tax which would have gone to the schools. Since then we have formed a board of directors of very talented people, have become a non profit, taken classes on running an education foundation and have at present plans for:
4th ANNUAL GET LUCKY PROM-2010
Can you believe we're up to number 4? Save your date of Saturday, November 20th, 7pm at the Crockett Community Center at 850 Pomona Street in Crockett, CA. We're featuring a Disneyland theme as a trip there will be the grand prize. Enjoy a chance for a "do over" adult Prom or the Prom you never attended or even a re-visit to your Prom. Fabulous music, dancing, food a no host bar, an awesome Silent Auction, Prom photos and of course plenty of prizes. In time, we'll post an order form for tickets. JSEF promotes visiting this site often. This is a place where teachers have an opportunity to list their classroom and educational needs. Often, the funds are matched or provided by larger foundations in full or in part. We have helped make up the difference with many expenses for teachers with the help of donorschoose.org. If you know of any teachers with schools needs, urge them to visit the site, sign up and list those items needed. It's a very actively visited site.
Monthly Meetings
John Swett Education Foundation (JSEF) meets the 3rd Monday of each month except December. Place: 364 Edwards in Crockett. Time: 6pm for potluck, 6:30 for meeting.
